Kate first joined Freedom Of Mind in January 2016. Her first hand experience with mental health motivated her involvement with the festival, which lead to Kate organising our five fringe events last year. Now she’s our events manager and can not believe how much she’s achieved since joining the team. Kate has taken a lead on our 2017 festival programme and sits on the board of directors. “The best part of volunteering for Freedom Of Mind is the unique style it has. Mental health can be quickly ignored, but the festival provides a relaxed but informative approach to encourage awareness.”
Outside of Freedom Of Mind Kate specialises in men’s mental health and runs her own campaign, Man Up Man Down, her aim is to create space for men to talk. When she feels stressed Kate reflects on Freedom Of Mind and how one little idea has created so much change.
